Additional charges have been brought against a man who was involved in a high speed chase that occurred through Minburn in September.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office reports, 46-year-old Jason Dale Charlet had a class D felony for third or subsequent OWI added to his charges stemming from the incident on September 26, 2018. Chief Deputy Adam Infante said they were waiting to get blood work back on Charlet following his initial arrest, and last week it came back showing he was above the legal limit for alcohol content at the time. Charlet had two prior OWI convictions in 2014. The felony charge will be added to the misdemeanor charges he’s already facing from the incident, which include first offense of possession of methamphetamine, driving while barred, and eluding.
The charges stem from a high speed chase where Charlet was fleeing from officers along the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Minburn, and collided with a pursuit vehicle at the Heartland Co-op. Infante said the OWI charge will be brought against Charlet during his next appearance in court, which is scheduled to be on January 10th. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
