Regular season competition continues tomorrow night in Panora for the Panorama Panthers varsity basketball teams. The IKM Manning Wolves pay a visit to Guthrie County for a makeup nonconference doubleheader. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Panorama boys basketball coach Nick Peasley on Monday’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page about the Panthers’ upcoming two-game homestand starting Thursday against the Wolves. Peasley shares what he’s seen of IKM-Manning from his recent film study. “They’re going to run (a) 2-3 zone, a 1-2-2 matchup (zone), different (defense) like that they’ll throw at you,” Peasley said, “They’re going to shoot the ball well, and they’ll push the tempo any chance they get.”
The Panorama Panther boys basketball team is coming off back-to-back victories to end the 2018 calendar year, bringing a 4-4 overall record into tomorrow night’s game. The IKM Manning Wolves boys basketball team tallied a 6-3 record in their first nine games of this season. The varsity girls matchup pits a pair of eight-win teams against each other. Panorama is undefeated in eight contests this winter, while IKM-Manning’s only loss came at Treynor on December 14, 60-48. The varsity doubleheader between Panorama and IKM Manning starts around 6 p.m. tomorrow with the girls game, and the boys’ contest will follow from Panorama High School in Panora.
