Wednesday, December 19th

9:15am: Mark Cranston advised of a vehicle with a flat tire, which had sat in the 400 Block of East Park Street for several days. The officer was already aware of the issue and the vehicle was towed to Impound.

3:00pm: Kevin Whitver advised he struck a dog in the 500 Block of South Chestnut Street. The dog appeared to be uninjured and ran away from the area.

5:29pm: The Rec Center advised of a group of juveniles being loud and using profanities outside at 204 West Harrison Street. The group was dispersing as the officer arrived in the area.

5:30pm: Tabitha Kendall spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue occurring at 401 North Wilson Ave.

Thursday, December 20th

1:14am: An officer began a Burglary Investigation in the 500 Block of North Wilson Ave. Several electronics were removed from the residence. The were signs of forced entry. The investigation continues.

4:43am: An officer assisted with a subject who had fallen in the 300 Block of South Grimmell Road.

9:51am: An officer arrested Lauren Schulte from 108 East Central Ave. #58 for two outstanding JPD Arrest Warrants for, “Fail to Appear.” The original charges were, “Disorderly Conduct – Simple and Interference with Official Acts – Simple.”

11:41am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 1000 West Adams Street #1. The occupant advised all was fine. It was determined to be a malfunctioning alarm system.

8:00pm: Marilyn Larson requested a Welfare Check on a male at 704 Rushview Drive. The officer made contact with the subject, who was ill but fine.

10:29pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1200 Block of West Lincoln Way Street.

11:21pm: Doc’s Stadium requested officers at 113 North Chestnut Street for a Fight in Progress. The officer responded with a deputy. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Jarad Ryan Wolfe, 40 of Bagley for, “Public Intoxication 2nd Offense – Serious and Disorderly Conduct – Simple.” Also arrested was Seth Michael Butler, 30 of Jefferson for, “Public Intoxication 1st Offense – Simple and Disorderly Conduct – Simple.”

Friday, December 21st

7:29am: An officer investigated a Deer vs. Semi Accident near the Raccoon River Bridge south of Jefferson on Hwy. 4. A 2008 Freightliner M2, owned and operated by Don Eggen of Adair, struck the animal causing damage to his semi. The officer estimated the damages at $1000.00.

12:36pm: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

6:16pm: A caller advised of lighting out on the north side of the overpass bridge on North Elm Street. City workers were advised and fixed the issue.

7:17pm: Casey’s advised a male, who was trespassed from the business, was present inside the store at 508 North Elm Street. The officers are attempting to locate the male and advise him to stay off the property in the future, or face criminal charges.

Saturday, December 22nd

12:32am: A caller advised of an underage drinking party in a residence west of HyVee. The officer did not locate the reported party.

5:16am: Monica Smith reported she had been Assaulted by a known male at a residence in Jefferson. Smith had injuries consistent with her report. An investigation in underway.

9:24am: Letitia Strabley reported her husband was missing for two days. She had not been able to reach him by phone. The officer began speaking with associates of her husband. Strabley called back later and advised she had made contact with her husband and he was fine.

11:42am: James Nelson reported two young children walking near Elm and State Streets, with no coats and wearing shorts. The officer did not locate the two.

12:24pm: Beth Owens advised of a Careless Driver heading into Jefferson on N Ave. The vehicle entered and parked I the Casino lot at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer made contact with the male driver inside the business and spoke with him about the complaint. The officer learned the male had a Medically Suspended License. The subject was brought to the LEC to make arrangements for a ride home to Bayard.

5:11pm: Tammy Binkley reported her juvenile grandson was possibly suicidal and heading to a Jefferson residence. The officer made contact with the juvenile and spoke with him at 802 West Lincoln Way Street. The juvenile was allowed to go home with his mother for the evening.

5:20pm: Lois Wistenberg reported backing into a row of mailboxes in the 800 Block of West South Street. The 2016 Toyota Rav 4 was owned by Wisteberg and suffered light damages. Two mailboxes were also damaged. The officer is attempting to make contact with owners of the mailboxes. A citation is possible after completion of the investigation.

6:50pm: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive.

9:53pm: An officer assisted a resident in resetting a Lifeline Alarm that was not working at 305 West Greenewood Road.

Sunday, December 23rd

2:02am: Larry Blake advised he had come home from work and learned his 12-year-old son was spending the night at a friend’s residence, but Blake did not know the friend or where he lived. The officer assisted in attempting to figure out who the friend may be and where he lives, but were unsuccessful. Blake called in later and advised he had located his son.

6:22am: A deputy requested a Jefferson officer to advise local gas stations of a vehicle, which the driver had attempted to pass counterfeit money at two stations in the county.

6:36pm: Maris Morales spoke with an officer about a Civil Child Custody Issue occurring in Marshalltown.

11:50pm: A officer checked the residence at 100 South Maple Street after dispatch received numerous 911 Hang Up Calls. The caller was fine and experiencing phone issues.

******** Numerous citations were issued by an officer after completing an investigation into two Hit & Run Accidents on 12/21/2018, in the 300 Block of North Chestnut Street. Sonya Lynn Thompson of Boone has been cited for, “Driving While Suspended – Simple, Violation of Financial Liability (accident)- Simple, Fail to Maintain Control – Simple, and Fail to Obey Stop Sign- Simple.”
