Among the bright spots on this year’s Panorama Panthers varsity wrestling team is the start put together by sophomore Wyatt Appleseth. Appleseth, the Panthers’ lone returning state qualifier from last season, has won 16 of his 17 contested matches to begin his second varsity wrestling season at 145 pounds. Eleven of Appleseth’s 16 wins came by pinfall. He also recorded two major decision victories, two decision wins, and one technical fall win. The publication the Predicament rates Appleseth as the No. 5 wrestler at 138 pounds. The Panorama Panthers resume their varsity wrestling season on Saturday, January 5, competing in the Crusader Invitational hosted by Coon Rapids-Bayard Community Schools.
