Aggressive defense tendencies have led to plenty of success in 2018 for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls basketball team. The Tigers posted a 14-9 record in 23 games played this calendar year, winning six contests by five points or less. Four of those wins came courtesy of an ADM defensive stop in the game’s final possession against teams from the Raccoon River Conference in January and February. Arguably the most exciting of those finishes came 23 days into the year. ADM’s Anna Kenny made a game-winning steal and scoop layup as time expired to defeat the Winterset Huskies at Mel Penrod Gymnasium. 50-48. ADM registered 239 total steals during 2018, including 13 games with 10 or more. The Tigers enter the new year with an 8-2 overall record and sit atop the Raccoon River Conference with a perfect 5-0 record. ADM resumes their season on Friday, January 4, visiting the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays for a league contest.
