With the New Year’s holiday coming up next week, several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Greene County Courthouse, Jefferson City Hall, Greene County Extension office, Greene County Chamber and Tourism office, Jefferson Public Library, Greene County Community Center and the Jefferson Post Office will all be closed on New Year’s Day. Additionally, the Jefferson Library will be closed at 6pm on New Year’s Eve.

Jefferson Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Jefferson City staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed by one day next week starting on Tuesday. Tuesday’s routes will be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday’s garbage will be collected on Thursday and Thursday’s routes will be done on Friday.

Residents need to have their garbage out at curbside by 6am to ensure that it is picked up.
