A pair of single-digit defensive quarters had a hand in helping the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team return to winning form last night. The Tiger boys basketball team closed the 2018 competition calendar with a home nonconference contest versus the North Polk Comets. ADM’s defense allowed a seven-point second quarter and a five-point third period in route to a 63-45 victory. The Tigers showed offensive balance with 10 players scoring at least two points and three recording double-figure totals. ADM boys basketball coach Aaron Mager is pleased with where the team is at heading into the holiday break. “The beauty is we aren’t close to peaking yet, and we have a lot of potential,” Mager said, “We need to continue to press forward individually and collectively. That’s what I like, the potential of this group, it’s pretty good.”

Senior Koby Hardcastle led ADM with scoring with 12 points, adding four rebounds and four assists. Junior Nate Conrad added 11 points and nine rebounds. The victory doubles ADM’s win total from all of last season, entering the holiday break with a 6-2 overall mark. ADM resumes their competition schedule Friday, January 4, traveling to Bondurant-Farrar High School for a Raccoon River Conference contest against the Bluejays.
