acgcJust nine games into his girls basketball head coaching career at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, Dan Baker has already achieved the mark as the winningest coach in the program’s history. He’s guided the ACGC girls to five wins in their first nine contests, with the most recent coming Monday at West Central Valley.

In his postgame comments, Baker talked about keeping the momentum going through the Christmas break. “I keep talking to the girls, the opportunity is ahead of us. If we can finish before Christmas with a win over I-35 on Friday night, we’ll be at 6-4. It will give us a little momentum going into the second half (of the season). Our work’s cut out for us but I feel really good.”

The Chargers won a combined six games in their first two years as ACGC. Mondays win was also their first over the Wildcats in four tries. The Chargers will host their final contest of the season against the Roadrunners on Friday. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. With the win to close the week, the Chargers would set another record for most conference triumphs in a single season. You can hear that game live on KKRF2 and RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
