While Guthrie County residents may be rushing to the nearest mall for last minute Christmas gifts this weekend, the perfect present may be awaiting in your local community.

Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster stresses that when you shop in your County, those dollars spent stay in your community, “When you buy local that means that money turns around, and the people that you are supporting at your local businesses are going to turn around and they’re going to be buying gas and they’re going to be buying groceries and they’re going to be buying things in your economy. And it’s kind of just a real circle that you want to keep in your community as much as possible.”

Main Street Guthrie Center encouraged residents to shop local this holiday season with their Small Business Saturday and Reindeer Express events. To hear more on Main Street Guthrie Center’s accomplishments this year, listen to Buster on today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County Program.
