The Woodward-Granger high school basketball teams swept Greene County in a non-conference girl/boy doubleheader on Monday night in Woodward. The girls’ final was 41-29, and the boys’ game went to W-G, 80-70.

The Rams are still looking for their first girls’ victory. They trailed 21-7 at halftime and fell to 0-8 on the season, while the Hawks improved to 2-6. W-G led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter. Senior Kayley Dresback scored 16 points and freshman Emma Anderson added 10 for the Hawks. Junior Bailey Cunningham led Greene County with 11 points, the highest point total for any Greene County girl in a single game this season.

The W-G boys are 6-1 while the Rams fell to 4-4. Senior Trey Hinote needed 20 points to reach 1,000 for his career. He scored 27 on nine goals from three-point range. Hinote also became Greene County’s leader in three-point goals for a career with 203. Senior Lance Hughes scored 24 points, his fourth straight game of at least 20. The contest was the fifrth this season where the opposition scored at least 79 points.W-G was led by Keith Braunschweig’s 24 points. Bryce Achenbaugh had 15 with 14 each from Noah Hoyt and Kaya Bowlsby. The Hawks went 20 of 26 from foul line and 28 of 48 from the floor. The Rams were five of 10 shooting free throws and 25 of 53 from the field, including 15 of 29 on three-pointers.
