The ACGC basketball teams hosted the Panorama Panthers in a West Central Activities Conference and Guthrie County Showdown doubleheader. Despite a strong start from the Chargers in the first half, Panorama owned the second half, pulling away for a 62-48 victory.
The Chargers took a 21-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and held that lead through the first half thanks, in part, to six completed three-pointers in the first 16 minutes of game play. The gold and black held on to a 31-29 lead as they headed to the locker room. But after halftime, Panther sophomore Zach Rizzuti continued to put on the points, finishing the night with 25 to lead all scores. Junior Kolby Shackelford also added 14 for the Panthers.
ACGC junior Quynton Younker had his best night of the season, putting up 15 points and a couple three-pointers to keep the game within reach. Classmate Bryce Littler also added 14 to make it four straight games in double figures. The Chargers fall to 1-5 on the season. They will try to bounce back with another Guthrie County Showdown against the West Central Valley Wildcats in Stuart on Monday. You can hear that game, followed by the girls, starting at 6pm on True Country K107.9, the KKRF mobile app, and RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
