Another student-athlete at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools decided to continue competing in athletics in college. Senior Andrew Flora, ADM’s returning state wrestling champion, shared with the public Wednesday morning on Twitter that he’s chosen Minnesota State University to further his academic and wrestling career. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network verified the information Thursday night at ADM’s Senior Wrestler Recognition night at the north gym. Flora stated he picked Minnesota State University for more than just it’s wrestling program. “They’re top academically and as a wrestling team,” Flora said, “It’s pretty cool having both academics and the wrestling team be in the top (level) of Division II.”
Flora shared with Raccoon Valley Radio last month that Minnesota State University was among three schools he was considering attending. Flora mentioned 2016 ADM graduate Zach Johnston, a junior on this year’s Maverick wrestling team, as a person who played a role in his final decision. He was also considering Grand View University and Wartburg College. Flora picked up two more wins last night in conference dual action against Carlisle and Winterset, tallying a major decision and a forfeit. ADM lost both duals last night, falling to the Carslile Wildcats (45-31) and the Winterset Huskies (51-30). Flora and the ADM Tiger varsity wrestling team continues their season tomorrow in the Battle of Waterloo.
