The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.
The meeting will begin with two public hearings, the first to discuss the Southbridge urban renewal plan and area, and the second for $1.2 million in sewer revenue capital loan notes for improvements to the wastewater treatment plant. Following the hearings, the Council will consider action items approving each. The Council will then receive updates from Chamber of Commerce President Deb Bengston and Library Director Paula James, as well as an update on the Restoration Harmony lease in Kinnick-Feller Park.
In new business, the Council will have discussion and possible action on a moratorium of septic waste systems installed in new construction for an indefinite time period. After that, they will consider approval of additional compensation for Finance Director Brittany Sandquist since she took over the duties of City Clerk following the dismissal of the previous clerk. Also related to the clerk position, the Council will consider revised job descriptions for that and the accounting clerk, as recommended by the personnel committee.
Finally, the Council will consider resolutions to approve construction contracts and bond for the six contractors awarded water and sewer construction projects at the previous meeting. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
