The Perry Chamber of Commerce has been busy over the last few months with a wide assortment of ribbon cuttings around the City, and the latest one was held Friday morning.
The Chamber brought the giant scissors to Harper Rose’s Floral and Gifts, where owner Cherie Welsh welcomed the public with refreshments and a look at her holiday stock. After a social time, Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti introduced Welsh and then gathered everyone in front of the counter for the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Welsh did the honors, with the help of her daughter Harper, for whom the store is named. Welsh then talked about her business, getting emotional when talking about all the hard work it took to get the flower shop off the ground and thanking everyone who had a hand in getting it there.
The event was the second Chamber ribbon cutting this week, with the first held Tuesday evening to welcome Harvey’s at Hotel Pattee. Pasutti said it’s exciting that the ribbon cutting events have been so frequent the last several months, as it means there’s more new businesses in town and new Chamber members.
