Perry Lutheran Homes is offering the next event in their Aging Well seminar series, and this Wednesday they will focus on the costs of getting older.
The program is titled “Aging Isn’t Cheap: Understanding Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage.” The featured speaker will be Sonya Ackerson, the Founder and CEO of Advocate 4 the Aging, who will discuss financial case management for seniors and their families, which includes helping with Medicaid, Medicare, long term care insurance, health plans, and private pay. Ackerson says many Americans underestimate the cost of in-home long term care, and making plans for it earlier in life is crucial for most people.
The seminar will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the community room of the Hamlin Bell apartment complex located at 2023 Willis Avenue in Perry. It’s free and open to the public, and registration is recommended.
