A reminder that tomorrow is the annual Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity Nativity Festival in Jefferson.
The fundraiser takes place at the First United Methodist Church and it begins with several nativity scenes on display at 3pm. A free-will donation community Christmas concert will start at 4 with a variety of acts, including area congregations and high school students, along with an original poem delivered by Tori Riley.
A free-will donation soup supper follows the concert at 5:15pm, with the event wrapping up with a pie auction. All proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity for Greene County’s Helping Hands projects and Associate Director Jeff Lamoureux talks about what the projects entail.
“(Helping Hands projects are) Working with the homeowners to do exterior repairs (to homes) to siding, roofs. And that’s what we normally do and that’s what we did this year.”
Last year’s fundraiser brought in over $9,000.
