Guthrie Center residents can expect returning favorites and new specials this weekend for Small Business Saturday.
Main Street Guthrie Center and the Chamber of Commerce are partnering this year, and will be giving five $50 Chamber Bucks prizes throughout the day to those who enter the raffle at any of the participating businesses. Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster explains the annual incentive for those who shop local this Saturday, “Main Street gives away a poinsettia to anyone who spends $50 downtown, and also free coffee to any of the shoppers and they just need to bring their receipts. I usually hang out in Art on State which is a great little artist shop here that we have. They graciously let me bring all my poinsettias over and hang out in the back of the shop, and give those out to anyone who comes down and shops small and spends their money locally that day.”
Participating Guthrie Center businesses will have special deals during Small Business Saturday, taking place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. You can hear more about this and other upcoming Main Street events with Buster during today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
