RVR Fest of Trees

For some people, the middle of November may still seem a little early to be thinking about Christmas. For those who think it’s never too early, an event is starting this weekend in Perry that’s right up your alley.

The annual Carnegie Library Museum’s Festival of Trees kicks off Saturday, and will run through the end of December. Organizers promise a wide range of trees, wreaths, and other holiday-themed offerings that will help get attendees into the spirit of the season. There is no cost to visit the museum and view the trees, but free will donations are always accepted, and you can also donate money to vote for your favorite tree. The most popular tree will win the coveted bragging rights for the whole next year.

In addition to the trees, there is also a special promotion going on until Thanksgiving. Hometown Heritage representative Alissa Whitmore explains, “While you’re visiting the trees, you can also participate in a quilt raffle. We have three lovely quilts that have been made by Linda Andorf. You can either get one ticket for a dollar, or you can get six tickets for $5. And the drawing for the quilts will be on November 23rd, at 7:45 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Museum, right in there with the Lighted Christmas Parade!”

Raccoon Valley Radio has its own tree entered into the festival, alongside many other local businesses that are participating this year. To learn more, click the link below to visit the festival’s Facebook event page.
