A goal of several high school student-athletes in Iowa is to turn their talents into a college opportunity. One of the recent West Central Valley graduates who broke into collegiate athletics is 2015 alum Bailee Arnburg. Arnburg, a four-sport athlete at West Central Valley, is now a senior basketball player on the Grand View University Lady Vikings Women’s Basketball team. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network recently taped an interview with Arnburg for the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page. She shared advice on what it takes to be a collegiate athlete. “It’s definitely not easy, but it’s totally worth it,” Arnburg said, “You gain so many great friendships, and you learn so many life lessons. Keep working hard, chase your dreams, and don’t give up on them.”
Arnburg and the Grand View University Women’s Basketball team is 1-1 so far during the 2018-19 season. The Lady Vikings resume their season next weekend in Marshall, Missouri, opening their Heart of America Athletic Conference schedule versus the Missouri Valley College Vikings.
