To honor those who fought in World War I, military veteran groups are encouraging communities to toll bells on Veterans Day tomorrow.

The initiative “Bells of Peace” is inviting those organizations and groups with bells to ring them 21 times at 11am on Sunday. The nationwide program is to honor the American men and women who served during World War I, when the war ended with an armistice agreement between the countries who were at war at 11am on November 11, 1918. The Jefferson American Legion Post #11 is asking for the community’s support with the initiative.

Veterans Day is always on November 11th and is observed as a federal holiday on Monday, November 12th.
