Sunday afternoon, the people of Dallas County got one last chance to support and give their well wishes to Miss Rodeo Iowa 2018, Adel native Jenna Kool.

There was a send-off party at New Hope Church east of Adel, where attendees got a chance to see Kool’s wardrobe for the upcoming Miss Rodeo America Pageant. They were also able to bid on special silent auction items and provide additional donations, all of which will help offset her expenses from her year-long tour around the nation. Kool was crowned Miss Rodeo Iowa last September, and she told Raccoon Valley Radio she’s shocked by how quickly the year went. Now that she’s headed for the national competition in Las Vegas, she’s approaching it with optimism. “I am confident going into it. Of course I want to represent my great State of Iowa (to) the best of my ability. But I’m so excited to just spend a week with all of the fellow state queens. I’ve made such great friends with them throughout the year, and I’m just excited for a week with them!”

Kool also offers a few words to everyone who has supported her on her journey since last September: “Thank you so, so much, I know you’ve been with me through the entire year! And I’m so thankful for Raccoon Valley Radio for covering my entire year. My listeners, my supporters, I truly appreciate you, I couldn’t have done it without you, so thank you!”

The pageant will be in Las Vegas from December 2-9, and includes contestants from 28 states. If Kool is crowned the winner, she will have another year of touring, this time as Miss Rodeo America.
