All the miles logged by West Central Valley junior Louden Foster paid dividends in the final cross country race of the 2018 season. Foster ran as an individual in Saturday’s Class 1A Iowa State Cross Country race at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. Foster was the fifth runner to cross the finish line in Fort Dodge over the weekend, clocking a time of 16:42. The top 15 placing runners in each class make up the 2018 All-State Cross Country teams. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Foster after his state performance and shared his feelings as he crossed the finish line. “All the miles over the summer were finally worth it,” Foster said, “All the pain, it was worth it.”

The Raccoon Valley Radio Network reported earlier this fall that Foster logged over 2,000 miles this summer training for this year’s cross country and track seasons. Foster shares with RVR his goal is to win the 2019 Class 1A state race as a senior next fall.
