Thursday, October 25th
2:03am: An officer secured the building at 600 East Lincoln Way Street, after finding an Open Door.
7:54am: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Orchard Ave. resulted in Anthony Gonzales of Arizona being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
11:38am: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 250 th Street resulted in Diane Degner of Gilmore City being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
12:01pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Harrison Streets resulted in Danene Janssen of Jefferson being cited for, “Use of Electronic Communication Device While Driving.”
1:32pm: Paul Oyres reported a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east into Jefferson. The officer stopped the reported vehicle and spoke to the drier about the complaint.
3:03pm: Connie Semke reported receiving the IRS Phone Scam Call. She did not incur a loss.
4:53pm: An officer caught a stray dog in the 200 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
7:54pm: Michael Miller reported the Theft of a pair of sunglasses from 105 North Walnut Street. The theft had occurred on October 18th , 2018, during a party at the residence. The officer is investigating.
9:39pm: During the investigation of the previous entry, an officer arrested a male at Oak and State Streets on outstanding Arrest Warrants. Jacob Richard Michael Oleary, 25 of Ankeny, was arrested for a Polk County Warrant for, “Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree,” and a Story County Arrest Warrant for, “Failure to Appear.” Officers were attempting to speak to Oleary about the Theft of the sunglasses in the previous entry, when he fled from a residence at 804 West Monroe Street. Officers located a short time later and arrested him at Oak and State Streets.
