The public is invited to a special event as former University of Iowa football player Chuck Long comes to Jefferson next week.

The Jefferson Rotary Club will be hosting the football icon at their Monday meeting at noon at the Jefferson Community Golf Course Clubhouse. Long will be promoting his newly released biography “Destined for Greatness,” which follows his career from his childhood growing up in Wheaton, Illinois to his college playing days as a Hawkeye and later in the NFL. Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $20 for paperback and $30 for a hardcover. Long will also autograph and take photos during the event.

The public is invited to join in the event with a meal served at noon, for an additional fee, and the program will then start at 12:30pm. To reserve a spot, call Rotary President Carol Durbin at 515-341-0296 by 2pm today.
