There’s still time to sign up for the youth Zombie Run with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

Director Vicky Lautner says it will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at Daubendiek Park for fourth through eighth graders. She points out that participants will have to complete the obstacle course race while avoiding the zombies, which are portrayed by the Greene County High School Interact Club students.

“Oh it’s a blast. They come dressed as zombies and it is just so cool to watch those kids interact with the younger kids too. There’s plenty of trees down in Daubendiek Park. So they can hide out and jump out (at you). They’re instructed to walk like zombies, so they can’t really chase them.”

Prizes will be awarded, in different age divisions, for those with “dead” and “alive” times. Cost to participate is $10 per kid. Registrations will start at 5pm and the race will begin at 5:30.
