Perry Spooktacular 2017
Perry Spooktacular 2017

Beggar’s Night is always a special time in Perry, and to go along with the citywide trick-or-treating, the Perry Chamber is once again sponsoring the downtown Spooktacular.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says Spooktacular is a great way for kids in the community to get some treats from the local businesses, while also allowing the businesses to show the adults accompanying the kids the services they offer. Pasutti adds, it’s easy to see why Spooktacular is such a popular affair every year. “Downtown is kind of special, because we close down the streets. It kind of becomes a pedestrian-friendly walking area for especially the littles to come out with their costumes and enjoy a safe Halloween. So for businesses that are downtown, they’ll most likely set up in front of their buildings. But for those that are not, if you’re wanting to figure out an appropriate place you’re welcome to call the Chamber and we can help designate a space for you.”

Spooktacular will take place on 2nd Street between Willis Avenue and Pattee Street, and will run from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday. Additionally, a portion of Lucinda Street will be blocked off between 2nd and 3rd, which is where First Christian Church will be holding their annual “Trunk-or-Treat” event. Citywide trick-or-treating will then run from 6-8 p.m., and there’s also events at Dallas County Hospital from 5-6:30 and Rowley Masonic Community from 6-7:30.
