The head coach of the West Central Valley Wildcats varsity volleyball team praised the work of this year’s senior leaders. On Monday, the Raccoon Valley Radio Network wrapped up the Wildcats 2018 varsity volleyball season with a recap interview with head coach John Jones. The Wildcats closed their recent campaign on October 16, dropping a three-set match against AHSTW in Avoca (15-25, 21-25, 21-25). During this week’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page, Jones spoke highly of the perseverance shown by the five seniors on this year’s squad. “(Its) not so much their talent I’m going to miss but their attitudes, their persistence, and every night in practice they were the ones that set the tone with their work ethic.” Jones said, “These guys are going to be tough to replace, and we’re going to miss them.”
The five expected 2019 graduates from the Wildcat volleyball program include Haley Nizzi, Sadie Schneller, Abbie Speichenger, Maddie Waddle, and Kylie Yates. The West Central Valley Wildcats closed the 2018 volleyball season with a 7-13 overall record, a one win improvement from last fall.
