A former multisport standout at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools continues to be a key member of the Grand View University Women’s Soccer team this fall. Sydney Bertman, a 2017 ADM graduate, joined the Lady Viking’s soccer squad this fall after initially coming to the institution as a women’s’ basketball prospect. She’s played in 16 games on the pitch this fall for Grand View, registering a team-best seven goals. Tuesday against Clarke University was the first collegiate match Bertman recorded a goal scored and assisted on another in a 4-1 victory. The win pushes Grand View’s overall record to 7-9 and their Heart of America mark to 5-5. We’ll soon see Bertman back on the hardwood for the Lady Viking’s women’s basketball team. She averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in 27 contests as a true freshman last winter. The Grand View Women’s Basketball team finished the 2017-18 season with a 23-11 overall record.
