This week is National Friends of the Library Week and the Friends of the Jefferson Library are once again holding their special chocolate-themed event for members.
The Third Annual Chocolate FRIENDzy event is planned for this Saturday at the library. Organizer Bonnie Silbaugh describes the event. “We have had members that have volunteered to bring their own special chocolate recipes. So we have six to eight participants that bake chocolates and leave them throughout the library at different tables for people to come in and sample and then vote on their favorite one.”
The entry fee is just the membership fee to be a Friend of the Library. Silbaugh notes that memberships start at $5 for a single and $10 for a family. If someone is already a member, they are invited to attend the event. It will be held from 9am to noon and prizes will be awarded to the winners. Plus, Silbaugh points out, you get all of the recipes to take home and make the chocolate creations yourself.
It is a fundraiser for the Friends, which provides funds for purchases for the library. To hear more about the event from Silbaugh, listen to this Thursday’s Community State Bank in Paton Let’s Talk Greene County program.
