Tomorrow the Hotel Pattee in Perry and the Nineteen14 bar in Minburn are joining forces to offer the first annual Fall Foliage Beer Run Bike Ride.

The ride will take participants along the 8 or so miles between Perry and Minburn on the Raccoon River Valley Trail with lots of beer along the way. The Firetrucker Brewery of Ankeny will be providing a variety of beers throughout the day, at $3 each. The event will start in Perry with registration at 11 a.m., and the ride itself will run from 12:30-8 p.m. There will be bands performing at both locations, and the cost to participate is $22 per rider. Hotel Pattee Owner Tom Maxwell says the ride should be a fun time, and also a good excuse for people to enjoy the early October weather.

Additionally, while it’s not an official sponsored event, the Perry Chamber of Commerce will be in attendance to promote the upcoming Bike Ride to Rippey, or “BRR Ride.” Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti felt the ride was a good opportunity to support a local business, while also building excitement for the popular February event. “The Chamber’s not really super involved with that (beer run ride), but we are utilizing that as a kickoff for registration for BRR. We’re four months away from that event, we’ve already started planning it, (and) we’re getting really excited. We think that that would be a good group of people to celebrate that kickoff with, and so we will have a table near their registration table with BRR merchandise.”

Among the merchandise for sale will be the 2018 BRR t-shirt, which will be available for the first time since the event wrapped up. To learn more about the Fall Foliage Beer Run Bike Ride or to register ahead of time, click the link below.
