Everyone is invited to October’s program for the Greene County Historical Society.

This Friday’s program will highlight a major event that took place in the fall of 1966 called “Agri-rama USA.” The two-day event showcased new farm equipment and brought in over 150,000 people to Greene County. There were plowing contests that took place on 1,100-acres located around the Jefferson Municipal Airport area.

The three presenters-Roger Norgren, Robert Huber and Steve King-were involved with their families during that event. They will share their stories and the public is encouraged to bring their photos and memorabilia from that event. Historical Society Board Member Chuck Offenburger will be the moderator.

The free program will take place at 1pm at Rippey United Methodist Church. Prior to the program will be a meal served at noon. The meal costs $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Meal reservations must be made today by calling Vice-President Nancy Hanaman at 515-436-7684.
