Fall is just begun, which means flu season is right around the corner, and Greene County Public Health has a convenient option for those to get their flu shots.
Public Health Director Becky Wolf says they are offering two drive-thru flu clinics at the Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot this month. The first one is tomorrow from 3:30 to 6:30pm and the last one will be next Tuesday also from 3:30 to 6:30pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio they can give flu shots without anyone having to leave their vehicle. The procedure takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
Wolf suggests everyone to get a flu shot, regardless if you think you might get the flu. “Even if you don’t get influenza, just getting the shot protects others. It’s what we call ‘herd immunity.’ I would really strongly urge people to get influenza vaccine as soon as they can.”
She adds, they will accept all health insurance policies. Wolf points out pharmacies, clinics and medical providers will also have the flu vaccination available.
