There’s a new face at the Adair County ISU Extension and Outreach office.
Erika Lundy has been hired as a beef specialist who will work with producers in region four across southwest Iowa. An ISU graduate, Lundy spent the last four years as a program specialist with the Iowa Beef Center, and has led research projects on grazing cover crops, implant strategies and fescue tolerance effects on cow reproduction.
Lundy shares what she’s interested in focusing on with area producers, “I think there’s an opportunity to do a lot of different things. Chris Clark, who previously filled this position, he has done quite a bit of things that I hope to keep going as well. But I’m also hoping to maybe bring in a little bit more on the feedlot side of things, maybe some management nutrition from that aspect, and then also some grazing programs in terms of pasture management and forage management.”
A native to southwest Iowa, Lundy is happy to be back in the area and work with producers on a daily basis. She holds a degree in animal science with a minor in agricultural business and a Master’s degree in animal science from ISU.
