Friday, September 14th

12:40am: An officer located an Open Door at 509 East Gallop Road.

6:56am: An officer responded to a Residential Burglary Alarm at 1218 Westwood Drive. All was found to be fine at the residence.

9:25am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of North Olive Street.

10:28am: DHS provided information to an officer concerning a possible Sexual Assault, which occurred in Jefferson in 2017. The officer is investigating.

12:40pm: The Greene County High School advised of another student caught with a “Juhl” Vaping Device. The juvenile was issued a, Possession of Tobacco/Vape Products” Citation.

3:14pm: Debra McGinn reported a Careless Driver entering Jefferson from the south on Hwy. 4. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the elderly driver.

2:30pm: An officer spoke to the resident at 907 North Cedar Street about open burning trash in the city limits.

4:00pm: Chris Howarth spoke to an officer concerning Unwanted Text Messages from his ex-girlfriend. The officer is working to speak to the female involved.

2:00pm: Durbin Automotive reported a male and a bicycle taking cans from the Can Drop Off Station near Head and Elm Street. The officer is investigating.

7:38pm: Officers checked the area of west and State Streets after dispatch received 3 911 Hang Up Calls from the area. No one in need of assistance was located in the area.

9:40pm: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 800 Block of West Monroe Street.

10:00pm: Rodney Thomas reported a Barking Dog at 702 South Oak Street. Officers spoke to the owner of the animal, who brought it inside for the evening.

11:11pm: Officers spoke to a homeless couple and advised them the park was closed at Kelso Park. The couple went on their way.

Saturday, September 15th

12:43am: Tina Meseck reported Loud Music from the High School Parking Lot. The officer sent the kids on their way.

1:58am: Officers were requested at 777 Wild Rose Lane for an Assault occurring there. The officer’s investigation led to an Arrest Warrant request for William Griffin, 43 of Rippey for, “Assault – Serious.”

3:04am: Page Thompson reported kids on skateboards in the roadway in the 700 Block of South Elm Street. The officer did not locate the reported subjects.

4:05am: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of North Olive Street.

12:04pm: Brian Ransom spoke too an officer concerning a Civil Issue with a vehicle title.

1:46pm: Nicole Gibson reported she was parked at 106 West Washington Street on September 14th , 2018, and her rental vehicle was damaged. The officer is investigating the reported event.

1:58pm: Tim Cadden spoke with an officer about two females coming to remove their property after he asked them to leave his residence at 621 South Cedar Street. Cadden was advised to call back if they showed up and he needed assistance.

2:15pm: Officers responded to the Courthouse at 114 North Chestnut Street after dispatch received two 911 Hang Up Calls from the pay phone. A wedding was taking place and the officer believed small children had placed the calls.

2:15pm: New Hope reported trash being dumped in the alley behind 106 North Wilson Ave. The officer is investigating.

7:29pm: Beth Laurent reported Unwanted Contact from her estranged husband and asked the officer to advise him to leave her alone. The officer located the male subject and conveyed her wishes to him.

11:06pm: Alva Millard reported a knife lying in the alley near Dollar General. The officer disposed of the knife.

Sunday, September 16th

1:24am: Officers responded to 771 Wild Rose Lane for a Fire Alarm Activation. No fire was located and the alarm was reset.

4:00am: Gabriel Jensen reported an Erratic Driver on 220th Street heading west into Jefferson. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

4:30am: Silvia Leal Ruiz reported his 2001 Chevrolet Suburban was stolen from the parking lot at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The vehicle was parked there at about 2330 hours, and was now missing. The officers reviewed video and developed a suspect from Ft. Dodge in the theft. After assistance from the Ft. Dodge Police Department, the vehicle was returned to Jefferson. The owner was no longer supportive of Criminal Charges in the matter.

10:45am: Shawn Olson reported the Theft of Fuel from his boat in the 600 Block of East Adams. 20 gallons of gasoline had been removed from the boat.

9:23pm: Angela Thompson reported catching a male attempting to enter her parked vehicle at 206 East Washington Street. The male rode away on a bike after she yelled at him. The officer did not locate the subject.

9:42pm: A reported he had been assaulted by a male while at a residence in the 400 block of North Chestnut Street. The officer is investigating the reported Assault.
