41840054_1533469313420569_1026440992686866432_nHomecoming began with an aura of excitement Sunday at West Central Valley. The district began the week-long festivities with a pep rally and the coronation ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony Jacob Jones and Haley Nizzi were crowned the Homecoming King and Queen respectively.

The event began with a meal and conversation followed by the annual senior football jersey auction. Family and community members bid on the opportunity to wear the jerseys in the stands for Friday night’s game against Mt. Ayr. The auction raised a total of $1,825 for the WCV Booster Club. The pep rally also included comments from the fall athletics coaches, cheerleading demonstrations, and selections from the pep band.

The other king candidates were Carson Wadle, Korbin Nourse, Cole Sackett, and Brice Sechrist. The other queen candidates were Olivia Becker, Sophie Bower, Meg Dredge, and Grace Marks. The week concludes with the first annual homecoming parade and pep rally on Friday. The parade route will begin at Stuart Elementary and end at Jeff Pease gymnasium. Any community group or business interested in having a float in the parade should contact the high school for more information. The game that night begins at 7pm with the homecoming dance on Saturday.
