Perry Map

After several months of work on the project, the Perry Chamber of Commerce has officially revealed their new official downtown map and guide.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti feels the map turned out great, and she’s anxious for people to see it and for guests to utilize it. She explains how it came to be. “(We) saw a great opportunity for a visitor map. So whether it’s at the Hotel (Pattee) — guests are here, they want to know what’s going on — or they’re coming and going from various businesses, people want to know what is their next step? Where else are they going while they’re here? We really didn’t have anything like that at all, and with so many great things happening in here, why don’t we have that?”

It was with that idea in mind that Betsy Peterson created a stylized version of a downtown map that she started selling in her studio. When Pasutti came aboard the Chamber and saw the need for a map, she was naturally drawn to the one Peterson had created. The Chamber got the approval to use the design as their baseline, and began making it into more of a functional map that would be easy to read but also great to look at. Peterson helped them each step of the way, and Pasutti also enlisted the input of the Chamber Board and Ambassadors.

After several versions of the map, everyone came to an agreement on the final copy, and it has begun to be distributed throughout Perry. To learn more about the Perry Chamber, listen to our Let’s Talk Dallas County program every Friday for the weekly Chamber Chat.
