Tuesday, September 4th
12:13am: Bev Luft requested Extra Patrol in the 300 Block of South West Street.
1:21am: A deputy requested an officer to make contact with the registered owner of a vehicle the deputy located at 252 nd and P Ave. The officer did not locate the owner in Jefferson.
4:47am: Harvey Swartz reported a male in the alley in the 100 Block of North Wilson Avenue, who was crying. The officer made contact with the male and spoke to him. He was medically fine, just depressed about life choices he had made.
6:28am: A Park & Rec Employee advised an officer he had located a homeless female sleeping in the restroom at Head Park. The officer made contact with the female and advised her she could not be in the park in the evenings after close at 2300 hrs.
7:54am: An officer checked on a Business Alarm Activation at 1004 North Elm Street. The building was secure.
8:51am: Shirley Danielson reported a male on a bike screaming at her as she rode her bike on the Bike Trail, near the fairgrounds. The officer made contact with a homeless male in the area, who denied the accusations. He was asked to leave the area and move along.
10:59am: Dollar General requested an officer at 104 North Locust Street for a report as a semi driver had struck the building while backing into the loading dock. The trailer had minor damages estimated at $500.00, while the DG Building suffered a reported $3000.00 in damages.
1:49pm: An officer assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the execution of a Search Warrant at 701 North Cedar #34. Possible personal use amounts of narcotics were seized for testing by the deputy.
1:45pm: Chris Laurent flagged down an officer in the 100 Block of East Monroe Street to report a dispute between he and a subject he was working for at 102 East Monroe Street. The officer could not corroborate Laurent’s claims of being assaulted and the parties separated.
3:17pm: Gerald Wright reported the Theft of Firewood from 506 North Vine Street. A suspect has been developed in the matter.
4:20pm: Nathan Nielson reported a male on a bike came to his residence at 506 North Vine Street and asked to use a tire pump. When Neilson advised the male he did not have one, the male began cursing at him. The officer made contact with the male in the 300 Block of West Monroe Street. Christopher Adelbert Laurent, 49 (Homeless), was arrested for, “Disorderly Conduct – Simple.”
5:21pm: Tim Pound reported the Theft of Services (Electricity) from his building in the 200 Block of West Washington Street. The officer is investigating.
7:09pm: An officer was requested to assist the jailer with an uncooperative inmate in the jail.
7:10pm: Sparky’s One Stop located a small baggy of suspected marijuana at 606 Hwy. 30 East. The substance tested positive with a NIKS Test and will be destroyed by the officer.
8:09pm: Melissa Tasler requested a Welfare Check on her father at 102 South West Street. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised he was fine and would contact his daughter.
11:38pm: An officer located an Open Door at 111 West Lincoln Way Street. The business was secured.
