Friday, August 31st
1:24am: An officer located an Unsecured Storage Unit at 1503 North Elm Street.
1:29am: An officer located an Open Door at 1801 North Elm Street.
1:39am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 200 Block of North Locust Street.
4:38am: An officer located an Open Door and secured the building at 1500 North Mulberry Street.
6:01am: Corey Mothershead reported the overnight Theft of a motorcycle from 102 South Grimmell Road. The 1977 Yamaha was last seen in the parking lot on the prior evening. The motorcycle was entered in NCIC and the officer is investigating.
6:15am: An officer responded to a Business Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. All was fine.
7:58am: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of West Sunset Road.
8:31am: Angie Murphy reported two stray animals in the 500 Block of South Elm Street. The officer made contact with the owner, who retrieved the animals.
1:33pm: An officer assisted a motorist with removing debris from the roadway near Lincoln Way and Elm Streets.
1:43pm: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at Lincoln Way and Cedar Streets. A 2005 Dodge Caravan, owned and operated by Wilma Herrick of Grand Junction, was travelling south on North Cedar Street. Herrick failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Lincoln Way and proceeded into the intersection. Herrick was struck by an eastbound vehicle in the intersection. The 2012 Chevrolet Impala was owned and operated by Tierney Gohn of Grand Junction. Both vehicles suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages. Herrick was cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
2:00pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street. A 2016 Ford F250, owned by the City of Jefferson and being operated by Tom Schilling of Jefferson, was backing in the roadway and struck a vehicle behind him. The 2008 Ford Focus was owned and operated by Kent Peninger of Jefferson. The Peninger vehicle had a reported $200.00 in damages, while the city truck had $100.00 in damages.
3:53pm: a Traffic Stop was performed in the 1200 Block of N Avenue, resulting in Michelle Mumaugh of Gowrie was cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
4:01pm: Offices investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident at 220th and Mulberry Streets. Linda Olerich was westbound on 220th Street in her 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. Olerich stopped and had her left turn signal activated at the intersection with Mulberry Street when she was struck from behind. A 1999 Ford Escort, owned by Chad Cummings and operated by Mina Cummings of Jefferson fails to stop and struck the Olerich vehicle in the rear. The Olerich vehicle was a total loss, while the Cummings vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages. Cummings was cited for, “Fail to Stop in Assured Clear Distance Ahead.”
5:23pm: An officer was requested to speak to a homeless couple, who had set up camp under the Gazebo Roof at the Dwelling Place Church on Gallop Road. The couple packed up and left the area as requested by the officer.
9:29pm: Breanna Gibson reported returning to her locked vehicle after shopping at 106 West Washington Street and finding all the windows and sunroof open. She advised they were all closed when she walked away after parking the vehicle. The officer viewed video of the parking lot ad did not witness anyone in the vicinity of the vehicle.
Saturday, September 1st
7:03am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Lane.
10:50am: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical Call n the 900 Block of North Pinet Street.
10:53am: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street. A 2002 Subaru Impreza, owned and operated by Troy Powers of Jefferson was backing from a parking spot and backed into a passing vehicle. The 1999 Oldsmobile Alero was owned and operated by Twila Lindsey of Jefferson. The Powers vehicle suffered a reported $500.00 in damages to the rear. The Lindsey vehicle had a reported $800.00 in damages to the left rear. Powers was cited for, “Unsafe Backing Upon a Highway.”
11:08am: Mindy Ford reported an Audible Alarm Sounding at 307 South Wilson Ave. Subjects were already present at the Church and all was fine.
11:01am: Bomgaars reported a suspicious male on a bike in the 200 Block of West McKinley Street. The officer did not locate the subject in the area.
11:18am: Brooke Hayes advised of a stray dog in the 600 Block of South chestnut Street. The animal was placed in the Animal Holding Facility.
1:16pm: An officer was advised of a Dog Bite, which had occurred on August 13th, 2018, in the 300 Block of East Monroe Street. The officers made contact with the animal’s owners and advised that per city ordinance the animal in now “Illegal” and must leave the city limits.
6:43pm: Officers checked on a Residential Alarm at 707 West Harrison Street. They located the owner, who advised all was fine.
7:17pm: Marty Wiedman reported a strange animal in her backyard in the 200 Block of North Oak Street. The officer believed it to be groundhog.
8:23pm: Rick Humpal reported damage to his window, possibly by a BB Gun at 600 West Harrison Street. The officer is investigating the damage.
8:58pm: An officer removed a bat from a residence in the 400 Block of West South Street.
Sunday, September 2nd
5:59am: An officer checked on an Audible Alarm sounding at 307 South Wilson Ave. All was fine at the Church.
6:24am: The White Oak Station reported a stray dog near 303 North Elm Street. The officer did not locate the animal.
12:19pm: An officer checked on an Alarm Activation at 204 West Harrison. All was fine at the facility.
3:48pm: An officer spoke to a resident in the 600 Block of South Maple Street with concerns over parking in the area. Nothing illegal was occurring.
8:04pm: Eric Chrystal reported a Suspicious Vehicle in the 400 Block of West McKinley Street. The officers did not locate the vehicle.
9:08pm: Jennifer Schiltz requested Extra Patrol at the Fair Grounds campground.
10:31pm: Jamie Ganoe reported a Suspicious Vehicle in the 300 Block of West Clark Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
Monday, September 3rd
1:56am: An officer checked on an Alarm Activation at 1805 North Elm Street. A key holder was contacted after the officer found all to be fine.
5:55am: Freedom Ore reported tripping and falling over a rock at 402 North Elm Street. She refused medical attention when offered.
12:42pm: An officer assisted a deputy at ER with a mental subject who had left the hospital.
3:03pm: Autumn Dolph requested officers at 304 North Vine Street for assistance with a male refusing to leave. Officers learned she had invited the male to come to the residence and it was not Trespassing. The male left on his own.
5:31pM: Oly’s Corner advised of a possible Intoxicated Driver leaving 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
6:16pM: Mindy Bassett reported Phone Harassment at 1000 West Adams Street #39. The officer diffused the issue.
6:42pm: Jay Laube spoke with an officer by phone about feeling his medications were not working. He was advised to contact his doctor.
9:20pm: An officer checked on a Business Alarm Activation at 400 North Elm Street. All was fine at the business.
********* Adam Michael Winger, 38 of Jefferson has been charged with, “Trespass – Simple” after the completion of the officer’s investigation. Regency Park reported a male peering into windows at 100 Ram Drive on August 27th , 2018. Winger is on Parole and is wearing an ankle tracking bracelet, which showed he was involved in the incident.
