A soggy start to September in central Iowa cost the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers cross country teams a race yesterday evening. The Tigers were scheduled to compete in the annual Winterset Cross Country Meet at the Lakeview Country Club. The Winterset Huskies athletic twitter account made the postponement announcement on Labor Day, citing poor conditions at the golf course and forecasted wet weather as their reason for the delay. According to Weather Underground, Winterset had received 3.56 inches of rain during the first three days of this month including 2.31 inches during Labor Day alone. A decision on whether to reschedule the meet is being considered at this time. ADM opened their 2018 race season on Saturday in the annual Urbandale Cross Country Invitational at Urbandale Middle School. The Tigers boys cross country team took fourth place out of six teams with 103 points while the girls squad finished sixth overall scoring 149. The Tiger runners will practice the rest of this week in preparation for their next race on Monday, September 10 at the Ballard Golf & Country Club in Huxley.
