Walter Aviation Ribbon Cutting 1

Today and tomorrow, the Perry Municipal Airport and Walter Aviation are celebrating Labor Day the only way they know how: up in the sky.

They are offering scenic airplane rides to the public between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Rides will last around 15 minutes and will give participants a bird’s-eye-view of Perry and the surrounding area. Cost is $20 per person, and each flight can have two or three people on board, though there is a 600-pound weight limit. Additionally, Walter Aviation Owner Jonathan Walter will be offering aerobatic flights for $100 per person, and only one passenger per flight, to give people a more thrilling experience.

Walter says the event will be a good activity for people of all ages, including families with young children. The pilots are also professional flight instructors, so they will be able to answer any questions about flight lessons and careers in aviation. RSVP’s are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to reserve a flight, call the Perry Municipal Airport at 515-465-3970.
