With the Labor Day holiday coming up, several offices and businesses will be closed on Monday in Jefferson.

The Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Chamber and Tourism office, Greene County Extension office, Jefferson City Hall, Greene County Community Center, Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post office will be closed. The library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

City staff reminds residents that due to the holiday on Monday, garbage routes will be delayed by one day. Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday’s routes will be done on Wednesday. Wednesday’s garbage will be pushed back to Thursday and Thursday’s routes will be picked up on Friday. Garbage routes will go back to normal schedules the following week. Residents are reminded to place garbage curbside by 6am to ensure pickup.
