The Perry football team will look to improve on their offensive production from a week ago when they travel to Adel tonight for a 7:30 kickoff against 1-0 ADM. Perry could not muster 100 yards of total offense a week ago in their 14-6 loss to Greene County.
“We were pretty vanilla in play calling last week,” stated head coach Matt Hardy. “We worked on a few things this week and trying to get a push on the offensive line and we’ll see if we can open it up a little bit tonight.”
Perry had one explosive play on the night when Kaleb Olejniczak hit Connor Kenyon for a 30 yard strike. Perry will need more of that if they are too knock off a confident ADM team fresh off a 17-0 shutout of Bondurant Farrar.
“ADM does a few things on offense that are a little different. You don’t see some of those things a lot so we have spent some time defensively getting ready for those looks.”
Perry enters tonight relatively healthy after dealing with cramping issues late in the game. Hardy was pleased with his team’s conditioning and stated playing just 16 guys over a four quarter game both ways will take its toll.
