The final Scoop the Loop of the season will unofficially end the summer in Stuart. The rolling car show will fill the downtown streets for the third and final time in 2018 next Saturday, but with a early start time at 4pm.

Scoop the Loop Chair Bob Cook talks about this event’s theme. “We’re going to honor past homecoming queens and kings at this event. We’re just going to urge all the past honorees to come show up at 6pm. I want to try to gather them on the open lot between The Stuart Herald (building) and Masonic (clock tower) Temple for a photo. There was a photo similarly taken like that 25 years ago at a football game and that gave me the idea.”

In alignment with the theme, the Stuart Royalty Trophy will be handed out by a previous homecoming queen. In addition to the thematic festivities, the drawing for the Pontiac Chieftan courtesy of Karl Chevrolet will also take place. The winner of the souped up 1954 vehicle must be present to receive the car. The drawing will follow the awards ceremony, which begins at 7:15pm.

As always there will be several categories for prizes and trophies, as well as kids activities, organizations selling food and beverages, and live music. The show is free and open to the public. To hear more from Cook on Scoop the Loop, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
