guthrie county fairThe Guthrie County Fair continues tomorrow with a whole slate of activities.

The day begins at 7:30am with the Horse Show in the east arena. Other livestock exhibitions throughout the day include the Swine Show at 8:30am, the Poultry Show at 11am, and the Pet Show at 4pm. As for non-livestock events, the Cribbage Tournament kicks off at 8am in the 4H/FFA Center, the free carnival rides open at noon, and the American Legion Bingo Stand starts calling at 3pm.

The evening docket kicks off at 5:30pm with the meet and greet of the 2019 Guthrie County Fair Queen candidates at the Event Center. Then the events shift over to the Grandstand for the queen candidate presentation at 6 followed by mutton busting and the Grand River Rodeo at 6:30. Tickets for the rodeo are $10 for ages ten and older and those under ten get in free. The carnival rides end the evening at 10pm.

One of the many exhibits fairgoers can check out is the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency booth. Agency Coordinator Bob Kempf says they will be rolling out a new component this year. “We actually have a table-top tornado machine that we’re going to be using that the kids can look at. They can adjust the wind speed on it and see how a tornado is formed actually in the machine. We’re hoping that works well.”

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be at the fair through Sunday from 10am-6pm and Monday from 10am-3pm. We’ll be broadcasting live, playing music, and making local announcements. For a full schedule, click on the link below:
