With the filing period now over, there are a few contested Greene County races heading into the November general election.

The two Greene County Supervisor seats that are up for election this November include Districts 2 and 3. The candidates running for Supervisor District 2 include Republican incumbent Dawn Rudolph, who ran unopposed in the June primary, and she will be challenged by Democrat Patti Naylor, who was nominated by the Greene County Democratic Party in a special convention. For Supervisor District 3, Democrat Melissa Frederick, who was also nominated by the Greene County Democratic Party in a special convention, will challenge Republican incumbent Tom Contner, who also ran unopposed in the June primary.

Another contested county race is for County Treasurer. Democrat incumbent and over 30-year veteran Donna Lawson will be challenged by Republican Katlynn Gannon-Mechaelsen. Both ran unopposed in the June primary.

The other county offices that don’t have contested races include County Attorney with Libertarian candidate and current Assistant County Attorney Thomas Laehn, and County Recorder, which Democrat incumbent Marcia Tasler is running unopposed in November. All township trustees and clerks, along with county extension, county soil and water commission and county hospital trustee seats are all unopposed.
