robsand_headshot_72dpiAnother Democratic candidate is set to make a campaign stop in Jefferson later this week.

Rob Sand is running for State Auditor and he is a former Assistant Attorney General under Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller. Sand worked in the Attorney General’s office as the chief public corruption and financial crimes prosecutor. He will be at a meet and greet event at the Milwaukee Depot in Jefferson on Thursday from 3 to 4pm.

One of his most recent cases was leading the investigation into the lottery-fixing in which he uncovered seven fixed lottery tickets across five states that totaled $25 million. In the end, three criminals entered guilty pleas to six different counts.

The Decorah native is a Brown University graduate and has his law degree from the University of Iowa Law school. He is married with two young sons.
