Several people attended a special program at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose in Jefferson Thursday night.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig was the special guest along with Iowa Public Television’s Market-to-Market host Delany Howell as part of the “Big Questions 2019.” The two covered several ag-related topics such as the new farm bill that’s being considered at the federal level, to the current tariffs and trade talks and water quality among other topics. Naig says he enjoys opportunities like Thursday night to address current event issues that are happening in the agriculture sector.
“This is part of being what I think the Secretary of Agriculture should be doing and that’s getting out and about talking with folks. I welcome these opportunities to hear what’s on the minds of people across Iowa.”
The event was sponsored by Home State Bank in Jefferson.
