Although he hasn’t coached an official game at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools, Tiger first-year varsity football coach Garrison Carter has already felt the love of Ambush Nation. Carter, a former high school football coach at Ogden and Washington Community Schools, was tabbed as the successor to Mike Whisner as ADM head football coach in January. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Carter after practice last Wednesday and talked about how welcomed his wife Jessica and him feel in Adel. “We’re so happy to be at ADM,” Carter said, “The question I always get is ‘you were the head coach at one of the better teams in the state, why did you come to ADM?’ It’s for all the reasons we saw from the outside. I think ADM has such potential to do some great things and it all starts with the people here.”

Carter added everyone’s been so welcoming and would like to thank those who’ve helped them feel at home already in Adel. His first game coaching ADM varsity football will be this Friday night when the Tigers travel to Polk County for a nondistrict contest against the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays. Listen to all nine regular-season ADM football games on True Country K 107.9, raccoonvalleyradio.com, and the KKRF mobile app.
