Multiple small college football teams around the Midwest have shown interest in the athletic talents of West Central Valley senior Carson Wadle. Wadle’s among a group of incoming Class of 2019 graduates who helped lead the Wildcats to a 3-6 record last fall. The outcome was the best finish in Eric Addy’s three seasons as head football coach of West Central Valley. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network stopped by the Wildcats’ midnight practice to begin the fall sports season on August 6 and spoke with Wadle for the Guthrie County PM Sports Page. During our interview, Wadle spoke about his interest in playing college football next fall. “I’m definitely looking at taking football to (college with me),” Wadle said, “I’ve been talked to by numerous coaches. Upper Iowa (University), Wayne State (College; NE), and Simpson (College) I’m (talking) to those schools right now but there’s definitely more schools out there that I’d like to look into as well.”
Wadle and the West Central Valley Wildcats football team scrimmage the Clarke Indians in Stuart Friday night in the annual sports drink scrimmage. The Wildcats kick off the 2018 season for real next Friday, August 24, traveling to Urbandale for a nondistrict contest against the Des Moines Christian Lions.
