Students across Guthrie County will be heading back to school a week from today. Panorama students will get an extra chance to be prepared before the school bells ring on the 23rd. The District will be hosting a Back-to-School welcome event for students and parents in the secondary building on Tuesday from noon-8pm.
A light dinner will be served starting at 5pm and an orientation will begin at 6 in the auditorium for all incoming 6th graders and their parents. The District will also be offering tours of the building for any new students.
Superintendent Shawn Holloway says this is the first time they have offered this type of open house and hopes it will beneficial. “(It’ll) be a nice chance for all of our kids, but especially any new students, to be able to come into the building, find lockers, get their materials where they need to be, (and) visit classrooms. I think that will be a good thing…I think we’ll build on that. This is the first year we’ve done things this way and so I think it’s kind of just the foundation that we hope to build on that in the future.”
The elementary building will also have parent-teacher conferences that day.
